Sometimes I can't tell if Marty is just an idiot, or he thinks that it's just good radio strategy to incite listeners. Personally, I find it annoying either way and end up changing the channel

I think he's entertaining. You need to listen to him knowing that there is no way you should take what he is saying literally.
Actually, if he was smart, he could put on a good radio program that gets people to listen and talk based on the quality of topics and his commentary, as opposed to being as inflammatory he can be. Basically, if being smart means you're the biggest blowhard in the Des Moines area, he's a genius.
Man, if the UI-ISU football ticket story was a weed, you couldn't kill it with a gallon of Roundup. Everytime I think it's dead, it comes back in some new, twisted form. About two weeks after the original announcement was made some smart man voiced his opinion that ISU could not ever sell single game tickets outside the announced parameters (read TENTS) without facing lawsuits from outraged fans who bought (or perhaps didn't buy) season tickets on the assumption that was the only way to be in the stadium. In this "I'll sue you for all you're worth" world that seemed like a valid argument. Coupled with JP's continued denials, I'd say if you want a ticket, there's still season tickets left. Or choose your tent. And just in case Marty does catch on fire, I'll start saving my ... in a bucket. :laugh8kb:
Would it be wrong or would anyone have a problem with it if Pollard took any left over tickets and gave them to charity or they were auctioned off with all the proceeds going to charity?
I would not have a problem with it because:
A) I was going to get season tickets anyway;
B) The money is going to charity;
C) The tickets would probably sell for more than most season tickets.
I wouldn't mind seeing a ton of season tickets sell and any extra seats just go empty, though.
I think sparking passion about a topic is smart and good radio if you have facts and can make an argument for your case. (which I think Deace-love him or hate him-was good at) If you are just saying idoitic things to upset people and can't back it up I find that annoying because you usually get equally annoying and idiotic people calling in to argue with you.
I wouldn't mind him giving them to some sort of charity... but there is no way you can sell those tickets. No way. I would be ******.
I wish I could find a pic of the actual mat but maybe Marty uses this guy's "Jump to Conclusion" mat?

As for Marty last night he got a little riled up a couple times. At least Keith didn't cut the callers off like Ken and Marty always do which allows Marty to trash talk someone no longer on the phone to defend themselves.
Yeah, murph was letting people go on and on, it was suprising. Especially when that rome wannabe called in first thing and just kept going on and on and on, wait that sounds pretty much like rome.
