I would not have a problem with it because:
A) I was going to get season tickets anyway;
B) The money is going to charity;
C) The tickets would probably sell for more than most season tickets.
I wouldn't mind seeing a ton of season tickets sell and any extra seats just go empty, though. I would like to see JP do whatever he can to fill those seats with people who purchased season tickets, without selling single game tickets for the ISU vs. Iowa game.
Do this by starting Aug. 1, bundle the season tickets with a few free basketball game single tickets, thrown in a few gift certificates to cyclones.com online catalog or do something to promote the season tickets to exhaust all possibilities of selling them. Then and only then I would be ok give them away to childrens charities without publicizing it.

Re: Single game Iowa vs Iowa State tickets
The only problem I have with some promotional give away for saeson tickets in the fall is that it hurts those of us that bought/renewed early in February. It encourages people to wait until the last minute next time.

My brothers friend called in to get 2 season tickets, and was told they may not be together. Sure they are the cheaper seats, but that shows you the benefits of renewing early.

I guess it doesn't matter to me because I'll renew my tickets no matter what.

Re: Single game Iowa vs Iowa State tickets
I can't believe this is still in the news...
Jon Miller asked JP this question AGAIN last Thursday, he basically asked if his position was still the same. Which he replied "yes". Then Jon asked if we had anything up his sleeve (ticket packages, more tent tickets) and JP said "absolutely not".
It sounds like there will be empty seats at JTS for the Iowa game although the game will technically be a sellout.

Buy a basketball season tix, get an iowa/ISU football ticket?

I wouldn't mind seeing a ton of season tickets sell and any extra seats just go empty, though. I personally wouldn't be upset if Pollard started selling single-game tickets at $90 apiece to Cyclone boosters. But I can understand why others would be ******. And there's no way he would do that. He would lose all credibility with the new season ticket buyers. The reason why it wouldn't bother me is that I want ISU to get the most amount of money possible. An extra 5,000 seats at $90 a seat is $450,000. That's a nice chunk of cash that ISU is leaving on the table...but it is necessary.
As for giving to charity, I'm fine with that. Give tickets to the childrens clubs, YMCAs. Or how about HS football teams and coaches? Maybe volunteer firemen? 4Hers? I'm OK with any of those, but I'd rather get young people who may be future fans.

Marty is halarious! I seriously love that show. Last week making fun of Ken for going on a picnic with his wife was tremendous.

Re: Single game Iowa vs Iowa State tickets
It was just Marty making a prediction. JP has said over and over and over, there will be no single game tickets for ISU vs Iowa.

Re: Single game Iowa vs Iowa State tickets
Marty Marshmallow strikes again. It may have been leaked by someone from EIU sports office, but JP would lose a tone of credibility if single game tickets did go on sale. I do not believe the Marty Farce. Sounds like a poll question for someone to post...
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I wouldn't mind seeing a ton of season tickets sell and any extra seats just go empty, though. My only problem with this is that at this moment - I think the crowd will be almost entirely ISU fans. If the tickets are actioned off, I see the % slip some. Maybe you could get the bidders at the action to sing the ISU fight song prior to bidding?
