Jake Mcdonough

He looks like a very raw, very talented player thet if he gains 20 30 pounds could be a legitimate NFL prospect in 4-5 years he is supposedly very quick off the edge and from talkin to guy who have seen him play he breaks up a lot of plays in the backfield probbly dosn't have top end speed for pursuit but with his size could be a very good strong side d-end for us. so what are your guys thoughts

i'm an *******
i'm an *******
i'm an ******* till i die
but i'd rather be an ******* than a ******* hawkeye

Re: Jake Mcdonough

im not a subscriber to CR, but i was able to watch his video. he blocked a punt and he want really even a "gunner". Looksl like he has decent speed. , but i didnt really see him lay anybody out. But i am really excited to see him on board. He was one of my top 3 recruits on D i wanted. I love to see guys recruit early so we can get them on ISU's workout/diet program to get them ready for div. 1 football.

I took McDonough and Sandvig's All-State pictures a couple months ago. They hadn't seen each other for awhile, and the first thing out of Sandvig's mouth was, OMG how much weight have you put on? McDonough said about 15lbs. He looked pretty thick to me.

Re: Jake Mcdonough

I keep hearing about how fast he is, but heard his 40 time was like 5.9 which is slow. Did i hear wrong or is there something more to this equation?

And as crummy as this one felt, Cyclone fans, it could be a lot worse. You could be a Hawkeye. - Sean Keeler (imagine that, actually quoting Keeler!)

I think I could run backwards faster than 5.9. You must have got some bad information. He looks plenty fast on film.

Re: Jake Mcdonough

I hope he's good, but I wouldn't start labeling anybody as NFL talent this early.

Re: Jake Mcdonough

If he ran a 5.9 he wouldn't have a single D1 offer. It's hard for me to judge his speed on his videos because he looks like he trys penetrating under control. Instead of beating his man off the snap, he drives him backwards and sheds him pretty well.

This says 40 time was 4.9...
