Oh come on, I could totally see Gene sitting at his computer in a wife beater and boxers at around midnight looking at prospects on Rivals.com.

Heres Scout.coms recently released top 10 prospects for Iowa. Tuftee shows up @ #10, with Jake ahead of Ferentz for #3. Overall there are 3 players listed that werent in Rivals top 10. I like Rivals info, but IMO Scout's top 10 is a lil more accurate.
It would be GREAT if we could get Staggs and Durbin in this class.

(As a Davenport North grad) I hate A** high. Of course, as the Catholic high school in Davenport, they sure know how to recruit talent from eastern Iowa. Assumption, Bettendorf, and North Scott are usually the best places to recruit from in eastern Iowa.

But no doubt they and Bettendorf constantly put out great players, but Dav. Assumption has a huge advantage considering it is the only school in the MAC conference that recruits (cuz its the only private one.) I played football along with Ben Barkema and both the Frere brothers that are now all at ISU. And I couldn't remember if it was bball or football or both, but I distinctly remember going up against Tuftee's older brother. I am sure he was in a scouting report from our coaches. Sounds like his bro (at least I am assuming it is) is an even bigger stud.
LET'S SEE MORE EASTERN IOWANS HEADED TO THE CYCLONES!!!

Reference: My 13YO son plays baseball with KF's 13YO son. I was watching a game with he and James several weeks ago and complimented James on his #3 ranking by Rivals. We discussed several players and particularly James knew the corresponding Rivals ranking(s); ie) he thinks the Cotton kid is #1 by a wide margin...
When I asked KF is ISU was going to land any of the top ten, he told me we were looking good with McDonough, thereby proving he knew them as well.
As for Tuftee, I wonder if his signing will have any impact on Willie Argo, a multi-sport star at Assumption. Argo's dad played baseball at ISU as well. Anybody know where we stand with him, or even if we have interest?
