Re: Iowa QB charged for driving with suspended license

If his license was suspended for DUI, it IS a big deal. Dude could find himself doing hard time for that. But if the license was suspended because he likes to drive hard, meh, who cares?

All I know is I´m glad it´s not us in the news this time, even if it is only for a minor charge

To the court system anyway. He'll be OK with EIU's athetic administration though. Heck, you can rape someone and get away with it once out east.

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada?

Slow day is right....

Half the front page of the Sports Section this morning is an article on Steve Alford. Didn't he leave Iowa back in March??

Couple of things struck me about that article...

It claimed Alford "walked away" from Iowa. First thing I thought was he walked away about as much as one would walk away from a attacking grizzly bear.

The other thing was that he was "working from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m" in NM...way to hit it hard Steve! (Wondering if this is a typo and was meant to say 12 AM)

Yeah right, he walked away, and Dan "resigned."

That was a really stupid thing to do, but it'd be funny if Christiansen did something else and all of a sudden both QBs are out of commission. Ahhh, Iowa football- it's not all free cell phones!
Sounds pretty benign. And we live in a glass house, so I wouldn't be throwing any stones

Mind the gap!

Re: Iowa QB charged for driving with suspended license

Even though this incident is minor compared to past summers it is still a run in with the law. It has been a realatively quiet summer in Iowa City and Ames for the respective football programs. Now there is a about a month left until camp starts and that's not to say that anything won't happen between now and then but the players have stayed out of the headlines for the most part.

Stop minimizing this guys!!! It is never a good thing when a Heisman Trophy Candidate/Winner is arrested for anything.

Those darn athletic directors, and their expectations. I mean with all of the hope that they, as Hawkeye basketball fans. and we, as Cyclone football fans had with these two coaches it just didn't seem fair that these two giants of their profession are no longer employed by their respective schools.
