Yay! My internet's back!

Well, ever since I "accidentally" broke Mediacom's cable box, my internet had "mysteriously" stopped working. Now that I got it back, I'm ready for two things; 1) a gigantic middle finger for Mediacom, and 2) to let everyone know that working overnights next to bars is entertaining. July 3rd/4th, I had 6 girls flash me as I was printing. That was the highlight of my fourth, considering I slept from 7AM to 6PM, missing most of the festivities.

Now, when does ISU football start, I need to get back inside Jack Trice.

All work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Good for them that they recognized the need for speed by saluting you.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

1998. September something-or-other. Location - Ames, Iowa. Miles to the east, ISU has just defeated Iowa.

Driving/walking around campus, prior to that date, I had never witnessed so much flashing by women in my life.

Good times...

Heard that during Katrina they were flashing just to get a ride on the boat as they left town.

I dont believe you. Next time bring pictures. ha ha

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Isn't it amazing how technology can change your life. Nowadays, if I use a mouse without a scroll wheel I feel like I'm in the friggin' stone ages.

It won't be long before using any mouse will be considered living in the stone age.

From another thread:
This is hilarious because of what happened when I went to return my cable box yesterday. The guy told me that if I disconnected my cable box, and kept regular cable, my bill would be $120/mo. instead of the $85 it was with the box. I "accidentally" bumped into the box on my way out after completely shutting off all cable, breaking their box into about 50 pieces. I think I can claim a moral victory for that.
After I got home from that incident, my cable and internet were completely shut off. Took them until today to get out here and "fix" it.

All work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Re: Yay! My internet's back!

No doubt.

My boss just stopped by telling us about the issues his daughter, who's going to be a frosh at ISU this coming fall, was having getting her brand new laptop hooked up with the Univeristy system. Some issues with Vista I guess.

It just amazed me. It was only 13 short years ago (yeah, an eternity in tech chronology) that I was a senior in MIS at ISU and the fact that a scarce few had personal pc's, There was one lab on campus available to the Business college, and there wasn't much of a "network" to have problems with.

I tell ya, you kids don't just know how good you got it nowadays.. (I've always wanted to be able to say that)

God I'm old....

I was there when they crucified my Lord
I held the scabbard when the soldier drew his sword
I threw the dice when they pierced his side
But I've seen love conquer the great divide

I dunno, I still had to heat my frozen burrito for 4 minutes yesterday. The Jetson's promised me flying cars and instataneous food. I've yet to see either...
