I am not gonna say anything negative about Chizik and/or his staff while they are at ISU and doing their best running a clean program. I am not gonna call for his head the moment he makes a gutsy move that coulda worked and people woulda loved him for it, but it failed. I want a coach who will takes chances and I think we all need to leave the past coaches alone now, they did their best and what they thought would win games.
As fas as Tillman predicting winning 8 games, I don't believe so with our schedule, but I hope and pray that Tillman has me eating my own foot come bowl season.
GO CYCLONES!!! This makes no sense at all to me.
Believe me, schools like Michigan would have never let a guy like our previous coach hang on for 12 years. I live in South Louisiana and Les Miles is 22-4 in two years at LSU with 2 blowout wins in bowl games (over Miami and Notre Dame) and most of the LSU supporters think his teams have underperformed while he has been here. In fact, I am pretty certain that if he does not have LSU in the BCS Title Game this year that his seat will be awfully hot.
Frankly, I think our fans need to be more passionate and let the coach know if they think he is screwing up. We should not be afraid to say something that might be perceived as negative if the comment is warranted. I can assure you that most of the football powerhouses have "fans that are always on the coach's backs"...and they always seem to be able to find quality coaches that want to take on the challenge of meeting high (sometimes unrealistic) expectations.
Be not afraid of high expectations, my friends!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Be not afraid of high expectations, my friends! Ahhhh it's not their fault. All they have heard over the past 16-17 years is reasons why they can't win. Especially the last 5-6, Cyclone fans have been reminded over and over that we should never expect any real success.

No need to, you are the one telling these fine people that it is OK to have expectations .

It just makes the fans say well I will believe we can beat(name your opponent) when the game is over and the scoreboard tells me that we won the game.
Its sad but the same goes for KU, and Baylor along with us.
Hopefully Chizik can change that mindset and win some games esp the ones we're favored to win at least at home!!

Just caught this little tidbit.
WOW, just WOW.
Yes Dan courted the media fanatically, and has many friends there, but to say that it would be difficult to acheive the results he did here is selling this university, and their fans, short.
Look at what was left, not a hell of a playmakers, and predictions of doom and gloom are not difficult to understand.
However, the biggest thing is that all that has been said over the years, by previous coach's is how tough it is to recruit to Ames, IA. No doubt that is true, but I think that we will see the power of not accepting losing, and failure. It may take a bit, but it will happen.

You read me wrong, I'm relaying what the media has been trying to tell the nation after Dan left, it's not what I believe at all. I'm just voicing how disgruntled I am with the national media and how they treat Dan as a Saint when clearly he's done all he could for ISU, and that it was long since time to move on.
| Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.
The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success. This is Cyclone Football. |

I was a swimmer in high school. As a freshman when I joined, people didn't really respect me, so I ignored them, went out and kicked their ***es in the pool and earned respect.
Thats what we need to do this year, ignore what the media says, go out and kick *** and shut them up | | |
