This kinda sucks considering he is the all time leader in wins in the state of Iowa. Maybe he'll come back once he gets his grades up.

The article also talks about guys moving up a weight class this fall.

At least in the tone of the article it didn't sound like he left on bad terms, so I think you may be right about him coming back once he takes care of the academics.

so if he's a coach, does that mean he didn't leave because of academics? What does that do to being able to wrestling in the future?

There has to be more to this than meets the eye. It's crazy. why would one of the best wrestlers in state history leave ISU to go coach at a Community College with only 1 year of school under his belt? Something else has to be going on.
