Too bad. I enjoyed his radio show for several years although I haven't been able to listen to it for 6 months or so.
Wonder why he is leaving and what he is going to do now?

I really like his radio show as well. I miss Tony Kornheiser's show as well. I find that "The Hurd" is just impossible to listen to, that guy has the personality of a wet noodle.
Bummer, that is all i got, bummer

Dan Patrick was good, especially with Kenny Mayne, but IMO he just wasn't the same guy after Keith Olberman left.

He was pretty high up the ESPN executive food chain as well, wasn't he?

My favorite radio show of all time was Patrick's with Dibbs and Salsbury (sp?). Dibbs and Dan had this great chemistry between them...they had some segments where I laughed for long periods of time.
Tony K. needs to come back to the radio as well.

I remember listening to Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio during football season when T.O. was still with the Eagles.
Patrick called him on the carpet about what he was saying and doing. Terrell couldn't take the questions and the truth so he hung up on him. My respect for Dan went up a thousand times after that.

I played golf with him in a charity event last year and had a great time. Little known fact is that his real last name is Pugh. Patrick is his middle name. His brother is a big wig with Sporting News and goes by Pugh.
I'm sure he will end up somewhere that people will be able to watch and listen, probably Sirius.

Hopefully it's just to get off the cesspool that is ESPN broadcasting. He probably is just as tired of the new "talent" they are bringing in, and ridiculous segments like the "Now" segment they are airing that they all look embarrassed to be a part of.
Good luck to Dan, he'll land an even better deal somewhere else (like Rome), and I can't wait to hear his thoughts on what ESPN has become.

Dan said he has no future plans at this time and was just looking for a change in life. Nothing but good things were said at this time about ESPN. Management had been trying for several days to talk him into staying.
Olberman has been on his radio show an hour a day for a while. Still a great duo when the politics are left out.

I was never a big fan of Patrick's but he was a heck of a lot better than all of these new guys!

Dan maybe will join Keith on his MNBC show. I actully prefer more facts that Colin presented over Dan and Tony although at times they were entertaining. I prefer Dan over the Swami Quiz Show. Guess Rush and Rhome drove another one away at the 1100 hour. Dan was better set for TV. One problem Dan had was ESPN seemed to feed him the one story line each day that he had to hash over and over again. The Dibbs did not help him much either. By having Keith back on, it was an indicator that ratings may have been sinking. Also, a lot of advertising dollars the past year are going to the internet and bypassing TV and radio. The matching ads seem to hit more homeruns. Even Jeremy had those matching ads.

Only about 500,000-700,000 tune into his show.
