MU's Grimes arrested for Assault

Generally I don't really get wrapped up in guys getting in trouble in the offseason - however, I think this is an interesting case. According to a Columbia paper:

Anderson said he recently instituted a zero-tolerance policy after Missouri forward DeMarre Carroll was shot in downtown Columbia in the middle of the night last week. Carroll, Anderson’s nephew, was treated and released from a hospital. A transfer from Vanderbilt, he sat out last season because of NCAA transfer eligibility rules.

I mean his "zero tolerance" policy started just a week ago. It'll be interesting if there really is zero tolerance now that his starting center thumped a dude in the skull.

Columbia Missourian - Grimes suspended indefinitely

Uhh... I'm guessing he might be off the team now, he is accused not of hitting somebody with the butt of a shotgun and he had another gun in his car. Class all the way there.

I guess it could have been worse than being hit with the butt of the shotgun - he could have hit him with the contents of the shotgun...

I am gonna guess he is back with only a 1 or 2 game suspension. Anderson cannot afford a bad season.

I don't think losing Grimes is that big of a hit for them though, except in depth, and I guess that is important since they play such an up and down style. I think Leo Lyons can easily replace his production.

No there is a zero tolerance policy for shooting people. Nobody ever said anything about the other end of the gun.
