Does NCAA test for illegal drugs--pot, coke?

Does the NCAA test for illegal drugs--pot, coke?

I know the NCAA tests for performance enhancing drugs like steroids or banned substances, but didn't know if they also tested for weed and coke like substances as well.

I would guess that it would show up in the NCAA's random urine samples, but I'm very unsure so dont take my words to heart.

Yep, they test for it. Most schools also do independent testing for it, but I wouldn't count on a whole lot for what they do with that info.

I don't know any specifics about coke. But I seem to remember an ESPN report on testing for pot and it dealt with how enforcement differs from school to school. One of the schools they highlighted was Penn State. I thought at PSU a kid got 3 strikes before they were suspended. I think the 1st offense just called for counselling & the 2nd offense they missed a game.
