many of the posters over at Hawkeyenation.com believe that they are the frontrunner for Jon Leuer. I realize that he wont go to ISU and I really dont want him when i consider who we could get instead, but it would erk me if he went to Iowa. I dont believe that there is any truth to these rumors either but I dont think we would hear the end of it if they got him.
The rumor orginates from a St. Paul newspaper article. The author says that he will likely accept the Iowa offer. Minny doesn't have a scholarship to give him currently, so he may not want to wait around for it.
He is a different player than Brackins. Craig plays on the inside and is a banger while Leuer who has grown 8 inches in the past year still has guard skills but in the body of someone who is 6'10. There are some comparisons to Steve Novak floating around but that would be pretty impressive if they were true.
I know that ISU was in on him early and they still may have a chance but I will admit that I like the direction that ISU is heading with the athletic department was a whole.
We need a banger and a shot blocker, BAD. I think Brackins is both of those things I'll take him, yeah. When Rahshon is leading your team in blocks by a long shot, first priority for me is a defensive big man.
I really would have to go with Brackins. He fits exactly with what we are needing the most. We have had tall guys that can't compete in the Big XII on the inside. We need a Fizer like player that can bang and get things done around the hoop. When I see Brackins play, he reminds me so much of Fizer and that is really exciting when you consider the players we will have around him.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
