Re: Update
maybe i should have said it more like he told me..... "man we are lookin raww for real out there, its going to be a fun season"
I think both Blaes and Dedrick will be starting, ive heard of both of them being a quick work in progress. Once they get back in, ill let you know who gets the most 225 bench reps. They will be doing that soon

Re: Update
So is Bibbs getting slated for the MLB spot? I think our defense is definitely going to surprise people. With Bell, Singleton, Williams, McDowell, and Sandvig; we should be able to find two men who can cover. Our D-Line should also be deeper than in years past...
Just my predictions...
DE-Taylor, Braaksma, Kellman
DT-Weir, Tate, Ba. Johnson
NG-Rubin, Frere, Black
RE-Parker, Lyle, Neal

Re: Update
Does anyone else wish we still had TM at mlb??? We would have a hell of a 4-4.
ISUC33, are you black?

I would he was one of our best defensive players last year. He really controlled the middle of the field and i think that will be missed.

Re: Update
I agree, I believe he was one of the few players on our defense with absolute pro-potential, he was an animal, every bit that Roberson was.

Re: Update
isuboi yes i am.
I too wish that Tmac never left. I think that bigger things would have come from him at ISU. BUT what can you do. we were blessed with a diamond in the rough with Bowen, i think Bibbs will be the same way. Chizik is a man of defense, we will be back in the 2004-05 mode sooner or later. I thought TMac was our Tim Dobbins though, lets hope Bibbs can step up

Re: Update
I was talking with a friend whose dad is "in the know" with the athletic department, and she tells me that he, too, was impressed with the progress the O and D lines were making. She also insisted that the majority of the new players this year that committed after McCarney left were convinced to commit to ISU when we brought Chizik in, so these are all guys that the coaching staff really wanted, and not players that they had to settle with. I tried to tell her the concerns that most of the fans have with the team, but she seemed pretty adamant about praising their progress so far. Take that as you will.
I do remember a year ago when player interviews were going on, Brent Curvey was hyping up the defense saying it was going to be a surprise, and we know how much that fizzled. He did mention how quick and good the incoming LBs were, which seemed to be the only bright spot on the defense last year.
We'll see how it turns out. I'm glad that we'll be getting some honest impressions from the coaching staff, though, instead of the spoon-fed, sugar-coated opinions from the previous staff.

I thought raw was only good in reference to sushi. Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man. -

RE-Parker, Lyle, Neal I'd like to have a little more quickness off the all than Kurtis. I thought a couple years ago when he was slated to start and got hurt he was a couple steps slow. Good size though.
