Anyone in Des Moines metro have this game yet? I know it's been released in some markets, but haven't seen or heard anyone from here having it yet.

I tried getting it early in the Iowa City area last year, but got turned away by each store that I went to. There's a strict penalty for stores who release products before the street date. The closest I was able to get to the game last year was the day before its release, when a kind old Wal-mart employee dug it out of storage for me. I took it all the way up to the front check out counter, only to have it ring up as "Unsellable before so-and-so" date.

Re: NCAA FOOTBALL 08 CUSTOM COVERS- ISU

Here's some info I gleaned from another board from someone who has managed to already get the game.

The "new" unis are not in the game, and apparently J.J. Bass isn't either. (I wouldn't be surprised to see a number of other JUCOs missing as well.) From the ratings I requested, here are the stats for Bret Meyer, the running backs that are in the game, and the projected starters on OL and DL according to the game. The player's numbers are those that are listed in the game and some had to be changed because the game doesn't allow multiple numbers on the same team... so I'm taking a stab at who the players could be in some cases.

Bret Meyer - QB#7 - 88 ovr

Jason Scales - HB#6 - 76 ovr
Jason Harris - HB#21 (#22 actual) - 78 ovr
Cameron Bell or J.J. Bass? - HB#30 (HB#15 or #3 actual) - 76 ovr (I'm not sure who else on the team is equal to Harris or Scales...)
Alexander Robinson? - HB#26 (#23 actual) - 68 ovr

Starting Offensive Line
Lee Tibbs - LT#76 - 74 ovr
Reggie Stephens - LG#73 - 78 ovr
Nick Slobidsky - C#61 - 72 ovr (This one is iffy, but Cyclones.com has him listed as this number, other similar numbers include Brandon Johnson, Patrick Steinbach, and Joe Blaes)
Tom Schmeling - RG#70 - 80 ovr
RT#72 - 78 ovr (Not sure who this is at all.)

Starting Defensive Line
Travis Ferguson - LE#83 - 80 ovr
Bryce Braaksma - DT#93 - 80 ovr
Ahtyba Rubin - DT#71 - 76 ovr
Kurtis Taylor - RE#47 - 85 ovr

Re: NCAA FOOTBALL 08 CUSTOM COVERS- ISU

The same guy simmed a season for a Hawkeye fan, and this was the result:

Iowa finished 4-8, 2-6 in Big Ten play.

Their schedule:

Northern Illinois - L 14-34
Syracuse - W 21-19
Iowa State - W 17-14
#8 Wisconsin - L 0-17
Indiana - W 42-24
#16 Penn State - L 13-31
Illinois - L 14-45
Purdue - W 35-24
Michigan State - L 42-49
Northwestern - L 14-27
Minnesota - L 28-35
Western Michigan - L 24-29
Kind of a wacky simulation engine in this game. Wow. I'd hate to see how ISU finished in that simulation.

rworkman83, I've got a pretty good one of Todd Blythe that I'd like to see done, but I was wondering if it would be possible to get the background of this pic cut out, so that it's white, like the ones above?

Blythe 1 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

EDIT: Actually, I found a better one, from the UNI game.
