I think it's unlikely that an 18 year old kid is going to grow too much more. Frankly I wouldn't count on any height increase, but imo, 6'9" is big enough to play the center position.

I was 6'2" after my freshman year of high school, and I'm 6'2" now. I just don't think you can count on it at all.

He is a project by all who have seen him play. I would rather bank 1 2008 schooly and try to get a big dog for 09. My personal opinion. What have you heard recently about Zeller? He has a pretty good list of coaches that are recruiting him on his rivals profile.

Agreed - people mature at vastly different rates. I graduated at 6'1 and topped out at 6'3! Hopefully Vette has a couple more inches to go!
I don't know anything of substance about either of these kids but it's impressive that we're final two, ultimately losing out to a couple of national powers. Gibbs was an important recruit to set precedent that ISU could protect the home turf and I'm disappointed from that standpoint...
I'm also not surprised about the "big" selecting Wisconsin. Bo Ryan's "bigs" aren't to be confused with back-to-the-basket Big Country Reeves; those guys are out on the wing with lots of touches and it'd be fun to play for him!

Easy. Who knows, maybe he will get tired of playing in high school gyms. Lets hope he doesn't become great friends with John Stockton's nephew.

He will suck unless he ends up playing for ISU. THis is a fact. Anyone who does not pick my Clones sucks. Someone needs to photoshop Adam Morrison's mustache on Grant Gibbs.

One thing to consider, just because someone verbals does not mean he'll sign....and i agree with the post about growth after high school - can't count on it, but, most males increase in height up to their early 20's don't count out Vette being 6-11 and a ton of athletic ability.
Fear not, look at some of the best teams that have succeeded with 6-9 or 6-10 guys, if they can jump and have a long wing span that height can be misleading. Does Al Horford from Florida or Joakim Noah of Florida or Branden Wright of North Carolina all played the center position at various times and they seem to be successful...Smaller athletic center can be asset in mobility and stamina against bigger slower 7 footers....
Go clones.....
