Purify pleads "no contest"
kNU wide receiver Maurice Purify pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault from a bar fight and a DUI, which happened a couple of weeks after the first incident. He got probation and not sure of a fine.
Callahan said he would wait on his "punishment" after the courts were done with him. Radio is saying 2-4 games.
He is their No. 1 receiver...

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
People are calling in and saying they are still seeing him at the bars. He is supposed to avoid bars for a year and have a breathalyzer built into the car he drives. He walked, except he is a bar monster and will succumb.

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
I thought you could only plead no contest if you didnt have any priors?

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
He grouped them as an action of four items. Sweet help. He pleaded beating the people up as uncontested so it will make it harder for them to sue in a civil court. He will be the target of catcalls this year like, "Thug. Pacman. Tank"

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
So that puts the Purify Drunk-o-meter at 72 - the number of days Marcus Purify has to get stupid, get drunk and get arrested so we don't have to defend him on September 29...

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
Link from Omaha paper: Omaha.com Big Red Section
These days, how do you plead no contest to DUI and not have your license suspended at all?
I like this comment: "Those were TWO instances completely out of character," Braaten said. "He'll take steps to make sure they won't happen again." Of course he doesn't mention they were separated by about a month in which he was suspended from the team after the first incident so it takes two brushes with the law to learn..... ya know, re$tore the order.... -

Not to mention the year he missed because he was IN JAIL! Nebraska is a corrupt school with a corrupt football program. That's the only way to win when you're a podunk university in a podunk state with podunks calling the shots. Go Big Red, right?

Re: Purify pleads "no contest"
Purify wants to play, like last year, "really bad" against USC. If Callahan wants to send a message he would get at LEAST a two game suspension (which would include USC)
