How do u feel now? Taylor gone just goes to show how quick a player can be dismissed, get injured, or whatever. Those who say we are set with point gaurds are crazy. I hope Gibbs changes his mind by Nov.

First off, I didn't dismiss not getting him. I think it was a hit definitly, but it wasn't crippling or anything. Second, he's not changing his mind. Third... I'd be surprised if anybody on our team is as foolish as Taylor has been, so I'm not too worried about it.
Why would Gibbs change his mind based on the actions of Mike Taylor??? Gibbs isn't coming next year...he wouldn't have ever competed with Taylor for a starting spot. To think that this would change his mind is stupid.
Taylor wasn't going to be here when Gibbs was anyway. So that means we are just as deep in the back court for that year the day Gibbs committed to Gonzaga compared to today when Taylor got kicked off the team.
You completely missed the point of the original post. Losing Taylor simply means that what can look like depth won't necessariilly be depth in the future. Heck, we were supposed to have 3 guards back this year and have none. You assume we will have depth with Garrett,Boozer,Steiger, Brister, but what happens if academics, injuries, homesickness or aliens cause that depth to disappear.
interesting, the same person who couldnt read my simple post implies that IM stupid.
I guess Gibbs is the only guard out there for us to recruit.
Okay, I got ya... I wasn't implying you were stupid I just misread the post I guess!

I don't see where Taylor leaving has any impact on ISU's need for Gibbs. Gibbs wasn't going to be a Cyclone til 2008 and Taylor would have been gone by then. The Cyclones already have a PG Buckley and WG Eikmeier committed for this falls class. You never can tell, if Gibbs commits to ISU then maybe one of those 2 guys starts looking elsewhere.
I would have taken Gibbs in a second, because a team can never have enough 6'5" guys who can handle the ball and make jump shots.
But I look at our needs & it's much more important that we land a quality big man who can fill some of Hubaleks minutes in 08/09 but then be ready to start once Alex Thompson graduates. After that we need the best post player or jump shooter we can get.

You implied Gibbs would be playing this winter. If you weren't, then why would it matter if Gibbs changed his mind in November, instead of in the spring?Quote:

On that note, clones52, I'm off to fight ET from taking our depth away. :wink0st:
