I've heard it mentioned by insiders that they were comfortable with what they've got and with what they're looking at for '09 & '10 that they didn't feel the need to get any other QB at this time. I'm personally pleased with what we have at the QB position for the next few years and they appear to be going after some big fish for the '09 & '10 classes so we should be set for a long time;)

Arnaud will be here through 2010. Bates through 2010 or 2011. Now Josh Jordan through 2011 or 2012.

I think we'll be fine...especially knowing the talent we have in Arnaud & Bates.

I think people are going to be surprised at just how much competition there is already this year for the QB position. Meyer obviously has some advantages but he also knows he can't bank on experience keeping him in the #1 spot all year.

If we can't run the ball, I don't think it matters who is playing QB. It will be Austin Flynn's freshman year all over again. We're toast right from the get go if the O line isn't any better than last year. I'm not expecting much and hope to be disappointed.

I would have been pissed of Arnaud lost his red-shirt year last year, but since he already took it, I hope he plays some this season.

Here's a look at our scoring outputs from 2006 though...

Seeing how we could only get past 28 in regulation last year - I think it'll be next to impossible to see us on the good end of a 40 point spread this fall. I'll be happy with double-digit wins this year, seeing how we failed to do that last season as well.

If we can block, do something that looks like a running game and try not to treat Blythe like he's a satchel of anthrax - we may actually score some points.

Austin Flynn is still feeling some of those hits!

Meyer has to improve on 3 things: Overthrowing wide open receivers for touchdowns at least once a game; locking on his receiver like a dog pointing out a pheasant and avoiding the tackles from the invisable man!

Actually, lasts seasons scoring would probably increase 21 points per game if you eliminate the fumbles in the red zone... so it's not as bad as the stats make it look.

I think we shot ourselves in the foot in that regard (red zone turnovers) far more in '05 than we did '06. We weren't in the red zone all that often last season.

I guess in one sense, I'm glad they're looking ahead to the future and in the other, I'm upset because I was hoping they wanted him to play linebacker.
