    Brackins now a 5 star

    New rivals ranking are out and Brackins is a 5 star. Listed as 17th best prospect. Good stuff!

    Congrats to Iowa State on the first 5 star commit that I can remember! Hopefully he is more excited than ever to get his name down on that LOI.

    EDIT: also of note, Jon Leuer and Malcolm Delaney both entered the rivals 150 at 72 and 89 respectively.

    We actually did sign a five star in the 2004 class. Ivan Chiriaev. Although he never did come to ISU he opted to sign with an agent and then NEVER enter the draft. Moronick move on his part.

    I really think this will help bring that extra bit of interest that we are looking for. I spoke to a member of the coaching staff this afternoon and they are extremely excited about this news and plan to play off of it to some degree on the recruiting trail.

    This may only be one ranking service's opinion, but it really helps in the minds of other top 150 players when they think about going to a certain school.
    A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

    Things are great in Cyclone hoop land!! I wish we still had some of the comments of about 3 months ago when we heard some saying that the McDermott hiring is terrible because the guy can't recruit. I am glad that I jumped on his bandwagon immediately and am still proudly there!!
