2007 Helmet (I know, not another one)

Was just looking at the pictures on cyclones.com of Big 12 Media Day and noticed the helmet was Red with a Blue facemask. Do they just have an old helmet or did we go back to that?

Judging off that picture and pictures from other sites, the face mask looks to be black.

I'm thinking that with the new gold pants, a black face mask (if that is the color in the pic) might look better than the white. I'm a fan of the grey face mask personally, because of its old school look.

Kind of along these lines...i hate to ask, but when is the voting going to go up on cyclones.com for the uniforms. I remember it saying July into August.

our helmets were purchased a long time ago for this season, they were seen in the commercial. the Big 12 probably has an old replica for us down there

I thought the face mask looked black too. That is a lot better look than the sissy looking white face masks. I think the black looks pretty tough..

Actually, now that I think about it, I do like red and black as the dominant colors, with gold thrown in there somewhere.

It's an old helmet, you can tell by the design. Blue is no longer an option for uniforms per the guidelines for the uniform contest.

I agree.. I've never really understood all the fuss over what color the face mask is. I understand the debate over the overall helmet design (ie logo on the side), but really, the color of the facemask? Seems like a very minor detail to me.
