Odd comment on ISU by Keeler of DM Reg.

As a journalist myself, I found the comment by Sean Keeler of the DM Register odd regarding his disagreements with the "Cyclone Nation." In this comment, he shows his real feelings about Iowa State, and that is strange for a journalist of a statewide newspaper. Take a read:

+ Nearly all of the lower bowl of Hilton Coliseum was full, meaning turnout — most of it a walk-up crowd — was at least 3,000-to-4,000 strong. It was probably more. I know we don’t always see eye-to-eye, Cyclone Nation, but folks, take a bow. You got behind a great cause to help an old friend.

IMHO Sean Keeler hates Iowa State University, its athletic department and its fans with a "Real Passion!"

The "Locust Street Liar" brought this guy in from Chicago Illinois for one reason and only one reason. More and better glorification of the ioa squawkeyes!

It makes no difference what ISU or its fans do the Sean Keeler's of the world will still be there to take a big dump on ISU and its fans. Of course that includes me too, because I am one of you a Clone Fan!!!

Ok...he gave Cyclone fans a compliment and we still bash him?

I agree the part about he and Cyclone fans not seeing eye-to-eye wasn't needed, but I didn't read it as a shot across our bow.

Still, not a fan of him - but at least he gave us credit where credit was due.

I think you might have read the comment wrong 22. Of course I don't know the real context of the comment, but it appears he's spreading the sarcasm on pretty think with the whole "take a bow" jab. Anyways, that's how I read it.

Looks to me like a postive comment. He also admits he doesn't see eye to eye with us, which is a sign of humility. Give the guy a break We don't most of the time.

Who cares what Keeler said. I take whatever he says with a grain of salt, whether it be postive or negative towards ISU. I think he's burned too many bridges with Iowa State fans for us to take him seriously.

Just look at today's paper. It's ISU's day for the media and what does he write about? Horner and Brunner playing in Europe. Nice way to tie everything in together.

First, he's still a dolt.
Second, I'm surprised too he finally admitted he doesn't like ISU (it might as well be a flat out admission).
Third, who cares about him telling us "to take a bow", whether its a compliment or not. He doesn't even know or understand ISU fans, because if he did he wouldn't have been surprised in the first place.

If this game would have taken place during the season, there would have been at least double the number of fans at the game, and he doesn't get that either.

So, tell me again how the state's largest newspaper will actually pay a urinalist money to work there, when he openly admits he hates one of the major universities in the state?
