I know, this is crazy.
But my question is, if they're just bottling tap water, why does it say they aren't making a big profit off of it? I mean, it costs as much as a 20 oz of Pepsi, which probably contains the same water along with sugar and a few other ingredients.

That is why Coke and Pepsi are buying these companmies. That os why Snapple is not going to be sold. These companies are making money like bankers now make money - off the little guy. Packacing must be half the cost.

Dasani and Aquafina are the worst tasting water and "surprise!" they are taken from "public sources", which doesn't seem to make it clear that it is tap water (at least to the undiscerning public).
Whenever I buy bottled water I try to get something from a " natural source" which probably isn't a ton better, but it does taste a whole lot better and is actually cheaper.

just goes to show how stupid the american consumer can be at times....
| I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. I buy lots of bottled water. I just use it when I need to rush out of the house or grab a bottle for running. It has it's places.

Half of bottled water has inherent contamination. That is what Consumer report found out. Make mine a Coors from the clean stream in the Rockies.
