So I know people have already questioned why the athletics departement designated the games it did as Cardinal/Golden Rules day (Cardinal Rules for UNI, Golden Rules for Texas). That aside, I have to say I don't much care for this year's "Golden Rule" - B.B.Q. Texas
(For those who haven't seen... you can now buy the shirts on the Athletics web page)
The Cardinal Rules are a little better...
1. Know the Fight Song
2. Sing it LOUD!!!

"BEAT TEXAS" would've been suffice, I agree. BBQ Texas? Meh.
Sorry to derail the topic, but you got me thinking of new/updated chants. The fanfare that appears at almost every "state" school, and ends with "Beat 'em up, beat 'em up, I-S-U", I thought it'd sound better saying "Tear 'em up, tear 'em up, go 'Clones go!", relating to the nature of cyclones/tornadoes.

Wow, that is a stupid shirt. I thought last years shirts were dumb, but they really outdid theirselves this year. I agree the cardinal one is much better.

Those shirts suck. I liked last year's shirts fine, but these are terrible. I'd be shocked if anybody buys them in great numbers. Students aren't going to touch these unless they're given away for free with student tickets, like last year. Ugh.

My thoughts exactly...
Pick a Golden Rule and stick with it, or leave at Beat ______
BBQ Texas is just cheesey...
As for Cardinal Rules - I prefer the 10 commandments type deal... Putting the fight song on a shirt is a nice idea but not nearly as much fun as the cardinal rules shirt. Maybe they could put the Fight Song on the Golden Rule shirt, and go back to having the Cardinal Rules of being a fan

I actually like them. the offical game day shirt is sweet. Gotta get a couple of those.
BBQ texas is a bit odd... but creative!
