College Football Live

They just went to commercial and they had an ISU teaser. They said something about Meyer having the most yards of offense among active QBs, but is it time to really get it done? Sounds like they'll be discussing us when they come back from the break.

It's on ESPN.

Re: College Football Live

That analysis lasted about 30 seconds. Here's the rundown:

-Mark May says Blythe and Meyer are good pieces for Gene Chizik to start his coaching career, but they're seniors so they can't help for long.

-Mark May called our quarterback Todd Meyer.

-Mark May says we'll win 3-4 games this year.

I saw it too... had to laugh at the Todd Meyer comment, but he corrected himself by saying Bret Meyer shortly after.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Did he call our receiver Bret Blythe?

Mark May probably couldn't name 4 guys on our roster. That being said, his prediction isn't far off.

I do like this show regardless.

Get the names right or you lose credibility amongst the fans.

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. "

Did you expect anything less of the Hawkeye Homer that is Mark May? I mean, no shock to me out of someone who expected Iowa to be the 4th best team in the nation last year...

My Roman Villas:
Friley-Godfrey (-66|126)
Helser-Woodrow (-61|122)
Roberts-Harriman (-74|133)
Welch-Ayres (-73|133)

Re: College Football Live

Mark May always rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know what it is about him.

Am I wrong in thinking that it's almost a slap in the face to project 3 wins for this team? I'm guessing they're referring to Kent State, UNI, and Toledo as the wins. Is it too much to expect a home victory against Colorado? Kansas State?

Speaking of UNI, a kid from my town is going to UNI on a football scholarship next year. He projects that they'll "kick the s*** out of Iowa State" this year. Should be a good time.

Give the guy a break, you guys are ruthless. Flubs happen, and he corrected himself after the fact.

Plus we are coming off a 4-8 season in which we werent on TV much. Until we become relevant in the football world, I've come to expect this.

I swear I heard Stuart Scott say "Gene Poopstick." It was an accident of course, but I just wanted to punch him in his lazy eye.

Yep....as someone already mentioned, their "Final Four" last year when he put Iowa in it was laughable. I remember watching that and chuckling to myself and saying "You couldn't be more wrong, Mark....just wait and see."

Wish they would show clips like that as an "in retrospect" type of show, but then they'd be shown as having absolutely no credibility.

A couple weeks ago on that show they asked who would be first among current college coaches to take an NFL head coaching job, and sure enough of the first two words out of Mark May's mouth were "Kirk" and "Ferentz".
