I think these 17 have a better shot than those 2.
There is a policy at most gas stations and grocery stores in Kent, WA (where I work) - "No single serving alcohol sales before NOON" I found that pretty funny when I first saw it. If you've ever been to Kent you'd realize that this probably deeply hurts their bottom line

Anyone know if they believe in contraception or not? I have a feeling lots of us would be dragging around a miniature army if not for that. I have no problem with this, if they are self supporting.

Some places doesn't even sell alcohol at gas stations. Not a bad idea but it sucks when the stores are closed and you need beer. Found this out a few years ago when I was in Rochester, MN and we couldn't find anywhere open that sold beer around midnight.

I've lost count of how many will be filling out ISU entrance applications in the near future, but there will be a continued presence on campus for a few years to come.
Are you from Valeria (suburb to Mingo)?

I knew a girl named Eileen from Valeria / Mingo who was the youngest of 17 or 18 kids, many of whom went to ISU. At least two of her sisters (Bebe & Annie) lived in the Towers while I was there. I met one of her cousins (Joan) from Colfax the following summer and she was one of twenty! As I recollect, dad was a well-respected farmer and school board member. I'll decline to mention the family name (wasn't Crawford!) out of respect and simply note that they certainly weren't on the public dole! Nice family...

I saw the special about the family too, I think they had 15 kids at the time... The kids get almost no interaction outside of one other family they worship with... The parents of the two families have basically arranged marraiges for their older kids...

Gotta love some online family reunions.

I've watched their show several times and there is no shortage of interaction with other people. As stated before, they have no money problems and the kids are EXTREMELY well disciplined. Never saw or heard mention of any arranged marriages and I've watched the show several times.
These 17 children have a much better shot of leading successful lives than a lot of the kids born today. Having a loving family with 2 parents is a great start.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

17 kids = 12.75 years of pregnancy......feel sorry for that!
