Crittle has now committed to Southern Illinois.
Zeller is down to 4, my guess he will be in carolina blue.
Iverson beginning to swell up the recruiting boards just like Zeller did three months ago.
What direction are we going for our post?
I was just thinking Fizer wasn't more then 6'-9" so why are we panicking? In my judgement, the only height in the big twelve is in lawrence, everyone else uses 6-8, 6-9, 6-10 but the bodies are big.
I feel very comfortable with Brackins and Vette....who knows, pick up a juco to get us to Jordan Dykstra now a top 30 recruit for 2010.
Keep your eye on the prize!!!!

If we swing and miss during one year, not a biggie. If it keeps happening, we have a problem.

I'm with you. Even though we won't have a lot of depth the next two years in the front court, our starters will be solid. Brackins, Vette and Thompson (Jiri for one more year). We'll have them through the 08-09' year until Thompson leaves. Then in 09-10' we could find a big JUCO to hold us over until Dykstra.
Not too worried about it but I would like to see atleast one other guy in the front court rotation. But I think Vette will be a big time player and most people aren't giving him the respect now that he will get later.

Fizer was 6"8 but let's be honest. He was a Micky D's all american. Not just some 6"8 guy

Isnt Vette now as big as Fizer was his senior year? Without seeing him play in the big12 yet, I want to picture him being agressive with size.

I too would have loved a "home run" post player in 08' but its not the end of the world. If we strike out again in 09' we could be in some trouble like Incyte said.

I'm not panicking... we haven't missed on everybody yet, but if we whiff on Iverson and Davila I'm going to start getting concerned.
Edit: I can't find anywhere that it says Crittle has committed either - while I don't think it will be here, word was it was going to be Marquette or IU.

Not getting a weak post in a weak year for posts?

I'm one of those people that thinks it takes a good year for posts to get acclimated - if we don't sign anybody this year who's going to be ready for 2009? We'll have four guys, three of whom (Thompson, Vette, and Brackins) who haven't played a quality Big 12 minute. I thought depth wasn't a bad thing?

That is good news that Dykstra is a Top 30 recruit. Who has him rated that high? I am concerned that we cannot land a quality big man in this class. One would be nice. McD is supposed to be a quality big man coach, but can't seem to attract anyone in this class.

Vette is about the same size as Fizer his freshman year, but I suspect Vette is an inch or two taller.

Dykstra's ranking at this point means very little.
