I've been watching various boards talk about these two, i thought we had Ellington on board and now he's backed off his verbal and has opened things up. Are these two gonna be a package deal, i know their cousins? Also, wonder if we have a leg up on some with Bailey Johnson from their high school to help bring them on board???
Anyone out there been hearing anything about recruiting...it seems with practice underway and pads on, that recruiting is now on the back burner for a while. With good reason, wins will help show people that this will be the up and coming program in the midwest - and it will be nice to see EIU taking a backseat for a change!!!
Sidenote - one of my friends (Sort of - he's a hawk fan) was sqwauking that he thinks their team is better then it was last year. I reminded him they lost a qb that had started for three years good or bad, that experience covered a lot of others mistakes. I think they will struggle and rumor out of ICity is that Christiansen will be on the hot seat to produce by our game or the young kid Nelson will be taking over for the Big Ten. Who cares - as long as we get the W in that game and another 6, we will be in good shape for recruiting.
I'm predicting our offense will be fourth in the big 12.

No i havent been drinking - i'm just confident that the nature of practicing against a defense that will not be vanilla as it was last year will prepare the offense for game day situations instead of leaving them out there at times looking dazed and confused at the various schemes that Chiz and other D-coordinators would throw at us.....I think it will elevate our offense greatly - and with the added skill players Bass, Franklin & Franklin, emergence of Scales/Harris Barkema and Summral i think our offense has some serious weapons and if the play calling is anything but:
1 - Delay Left
2 - Botched Wide receiver screen
3 - Sack
We should be in great shape!!!
23 days will tell....
