I agree, good article. Sobering as hell, but good.

Re: Chris Williams' Article...

I think Gmac is going after a Juco so he can add more to an already very promising 2010 class. Think about this. Right now I think we have 3 scholly's for 2010. If we get a Juco guy for 08 that can help out right away. Then we would have 4 schollarships for 2010. We have Dykstra and most likely Harrison Barnes. We also offered 2 more guys for 2010. If we can bring 4 stud 2010 recruits and keep them togeather for a few years. It might be the future of Iowa State. I like it.

For the record the 08 class sucks right now. We need at least one more guy. Hopefully it's a the Juco kid. Then bank the other ship for 09.

are there ANY Juco Bigs out there? I am normally one for going out and getting the most talented guys you can and letting the chips fall, play your strengths, but I think the last thing we need is another 6'4"-6'6" ish tweener guard forward forced to play a post.

If he's a legit 6-5, 225 juco, he should be physical enough to play in the Big 12. I would rather have that then some 6-9 bean pole project.

'tiny little text etched into her neck it said "jesus lived and died for all your sins." she's got blue black ink and it's scratched into her lower back. it said: "damn right i'll rise again." yeah, damn right you'll rise again.'

Hey, a season with G-Mac and Jiri's come a long way from that 6-9 bean pole project...

Attempt #3
The ongoing story of the persistent attempts to get to the other side.

I don't care if he is 6'5" 265, he is still 6'5", you can't teach height.

Re: Chris Williams' Article...

Kenny Pratt was 6"4 and he was one of our best inside guys ever. If this guy can be like Pratt then I say snatch him up.

Re: Chris Williams' Article...

I'm pretty sure Jiri has been 6'11" since he came here, and he was a juco guy, not a high school freshman, he isn't huge, but never really the bean pole type, and not really a project, just a guy who liked to face up and never really got coached before.

ditto. A strong 6'5 player, with talent and technique can play post in college basketball.

Any chance we redshirt Vette this year and simply consider him part of the '08 class?

You should change your name. You obviously know more than nothing.

We should redshirt him, and then just "encourage" him to hang out around Sheppard for a few months
