    Big 12 QBs

From Omaha sports talk. Did an expanded segment today on the QBs. Missed part of it. But how they see it... worst to first

    12. Baylor
    11. KU
    10. CU
    9. OU *
    8. ISU *
    7. KSU
    6. A&M
    5. NU
    4. Tech
    3. MU
    2. Texas
    1. OSU

A couple of people called in saying Meyer was better than eighth. The host made the comment that ISU and OU both get an asterisk next to them because they both could be in the top 4 or 5 by years end.

He went on to say that Meyer as a 3 year starter is comfortable on the field and a very mobile QB. He is a dual threat QB and went into his passing and rushing yards. "Only 177 yards rushing," doesn't help his cause. And he mentioned all the yards lost due to sacks.

And that is why he is ranked at eighth. "IF ISU can find a running game and IF ISU can find an O-Line, Meyer could have a great year."

OU was ranked ninth because "they're not sure who their QB will be. But with the Offense OU has, he can make a name for himself."

Once again, the attitude about ISU football is more questions than answers. They've talked about Meyer, Blythe, and Bowen but their not to sure of the rest of the Cyclone team.

To me, it's kind of a "good place" to be. No one is really expecting anything out of ISU. To many questions.

I would have ISU at 7th. Meyer is better than fatso Freeman.

Meyer is much better than Josh Freeman. Did they only take starting QBs into account?

    OSU?

I wish more people would watch Reid play rather than look at his stats, which aren't that impressive anyway.

This conference has lots of good QB play, no doubt.

Coaches always have a great hand to play when they can lay down the "no respect" card. I'm happy with the situation, even if I can't really argue with a lot of their ratings other than this one.

Tell me again what Nebraska's QB has done in the Big 12? I thought so.
'tiny little text etched into her neck it said "jesus lived and died for all your sins." she's got blue black ink and it's scratched into her lower back. it said: "damn right i'll rise again." yeah, damn right you'll rise again.'

    Re: Big 12 QBs

Meyer is no worse than 4th in this league. The comment about his rushing yards is not the measure for how good a QB is. Ask any NFL scout. Not saying that Meyer is a top NFL prospect, yet, but with his experience and ability, anything lower than 4th is laughable.

I've never seen Reid play, but from all the nay-sayers, he does seem to have that Drew Tate-ish hype going for him.

    Two words, Colt McCoy.

He is the best QB in the league, and may very well win a heisman before he is done (barring injury).

    Re: Big 12 QBs

I see people beat me to the Freeman = tubby comments.

And yes, Meyer is probably around 7th best in the conference, though there's no way Reid is better than Colt.
