Yeah, I've never understood all the people who cry about the heat in the midwest. In about 6 weeks the weather will begin to go to hell.

It gets about as bad here as it does in the south... but for a shorter amount of time. I might not complain about the heat, but I can sure complain about the weather, which goes from gagging humidity in the summer, to wind chills well below zero. During the winter in the south, anything below 40 is considered "pretty damn cold".

I would rather have cold and snow than this. At least you can go outside in the cold.

Am I the only one who enjoys the variety offered by the climate here? I like the change of seasons. There's always something to look forward to. Of course the extremes (at both ends of the scale) kinda suck, but I'll take the occasional 10 or 90 F days in exchange for the rest of the year. Between working and sleeping, I'm in climate control a minimum of 2/3 of the time anyway.

Me too. You can always put more layers on, but there's only so many you can take off.

The only thing I like about the really hot part of summer are thunderstorms, but you can have thunderstorms with much more comfortable weather than this.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

You know what I like about days like today?

You don't have any stupid smart (donkeys) saying "Global warming, my (donkey)."

Is it just me or do other people hate this line as much as me?

Check this link out. Apparently 1998 is no longer the hottest year on record:

Now what's Al Gore going to do for a living? His movie is inaccurate.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.
