Re: Big Ten Network

How can they call themselves the Big Ten Network. They are 11 and also not my definition of a network. They are more like Big 11 Pay for View.....looks like it will not be a money maker if only mediacom is strong armed into the fold.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

But notice, the article is not called "Area bars empty; everyone watching the game at home."

Spotty coverage at best and a lot of big metro markets aren't included. Not to mention we have a quite a few people living out in the rural areas who don't get cable.

Re: Big Ten Network

Does that lineup of cable companies account for like 15-20% of the population of Iowa?

Unless there has been a recent change, the BTN is not going to even be carried in any of the home cities of the Big 10 via cable. They BTN should understand where they rank.

Those people in the rural areas were never really part of the equation were they? since they didn't have cable in the first place? I am wondering though what percentage of people who watched college football that live in rural areas don't have Direct TV or Dish?
