There already is a cyclone statue right in down town Iowa City. Check it out, it is at the north end of the ped mall.

Minus Katrina... Hurricanes are usually well planned out, expected.. people evacuate and usually not many are killed... Cyclones (Tornados) are pretty unpredictable and can take many by surprise. also can be very deadly

Sorry -- I thought a Cyclone was just a different name for a Hurricane that is used in the Indian Ocean area and SW Pacific. I gotta learn to Google better (or you need to do your research before you start saying Cyclones are tornados).

Re: Cy the Mascot

In meteorology, a cyclone is an area of low atmospheric pressure characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere of the Earth. Since the generic term covers a wide variety of meteorological phenomena, such as tropical cyclones, extratropical cyclones, and tornadoes, meteorologists rarely use it without additional qualification.

Wow - someone took the meteorology class at Iowa State!

(btw, that was a fun class, and anyone out there looking for an elective, that's certainly one to take)

Attempt #3
The ongoing story of the persistent attempts to get to the other side.
