I thought i heard every single Iowa State fan will receive "A life", since most of us had none when it came to hacking away on the computer to win it.
If we get something, maybe they should put it on campus somewhere.

Let's put Cy statues all over town and make them in different fashions and colors, such as a Ronald McDonald Cy near the McDonald's, etc. this is a totally creative and original idea that is in no way stupid or worth laughing at.
(for those of you who don't frequent I.C. - yes, those idiots 136 miles east of Ames did this with herky awhile back)

(for those of you who don't frequent I.C. - yes, those idiots 136 miles east of Ames did this with herky awhile back) It's not a bad idea... I saw it done with cows in Kansas City a few years back. I hear it's a good fundraiser, since businesses and schools essentially buy a template statue to modify and decorate as they see fit.

Can we atleast put up indestructible and immobile Cy statues in Iowa City...then electrify them so if any idiots tried to deface Cy by urination...they would get a shocking surprise.

To answer your original question Dave...I think it will be announced when school starts up again in a few weeks. I have not heard anything and it will probably be announced at the ceremony for Cy which I imagine will happen when all of the students are back at school. I've been checking the Facebook group we created every so often as the CBS guy had posted information on there once and I imagine he will do it again when an event gets decided upon. If I find out anything I will post it back here for sure.

Both are rip-offs of the original, which was done in Chicago with cows. The way it (usually) works is that whichever group organizes the thing commissions artists or community groups or businesses or whatever to decorate the statues, which are displayed for a good while around the city, then auctioned off as a fundraiser.

If we get something, maybe they should put it on campus somewhere. I agree. It wasn't so much a true contest to determine the best mascot as it was a contest to see which school had the best computer hackers.

If CBS came to central campus and sponsored a BBQ, I wouldn't be opposed. I love free food on the way back from class.

The funniest statue in IC was the Marilyn Monroe Herky which mimicked the classic Monroe picture with her holding her dress to keep it from blowing up. Something about a hawk trying to keep its dress on seemed somewhat humorous to me (in addition to the obvious feminizing of their mascot).

Yeah, you're welcome, Cy!!
