But did you see that line up!!! that's like a 'boy band' cable line up. ESPNU, NFL Channel, BIG 10, Midwest Sports (Cubs games) ...

Re: More Mediacom complaining
Perhaps you should move to Oskie, play golf all day, and hangout with "The Sherriff" at Hardee's.
Just an idea. -
Re: More Mediacom complaining
Can they come to Des Moines?

Re: More Mediacom complaining

I only reply when I think I have something to add. I avoid the DMac threads which is half the site. I also avoid the EIU threads which is seriously about 25% of the site. I enjoy the rest of the threads but don't want to waste people's time with my worthless, uninformed remarks. You should probably allow personal messages so we don't have to waste people's time on this thread anymore. Later.

They advertise 1Mb down and 15 up.
That is insanely fast.
You also have to run Cat5 Cable to each receiver you want hooked up in the house or you will all be watching the same channel.
I didn't see anything about HD service also??
I wonder how long they can hold on to those prices? Fibre is not cheap.

Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -
Re: More Mediacom complaining

Re: More Mediacom complaining
Mediacom in Cedar Falls just raised their rates from $43 for Family Cable to $52 I think. Basically the same thing provided by the municipal utility is $38.

Quit Throwing up in your mouth Karen Carpenter.
I have Direct T.V. I have not complained in about 3 years. One time I missed the end of a game on ESPN classic because of a massive thunderstorm, I knew who won already so I was not to disappointed. I still won the bet with my wife that we could beat Kansas. Good thing she did not realize it was on CLassic.

Re: More Mediacom complaining
I just got an ad in my email saying that, if you sign up for DirecTV HD at Best Buy, you get a free 19" Philips HD TV. Unfortunately, I signed up for the package over a year ago, so it doesn't help me.

These little towns routinely have better communications that the bigger "cities" in Iowa.
I worked for Iowa Network Services in the late 90's. At the time I had 56k dialup in my new house in a new neighborhood in ankeny, that is all I could get. But my job was to install adsl/sdsl in bumpkin little towns. Some of those guys were getting 6M dsl in 1997. I would have killed to get that. Heck I cannot even get 6M now, best I can do is 1.5M.
