If it goes on being delusional I'd have to go with the Hawks...they will argue until the death that their coach deserves to be paid third of all coaches in D1 football despite going 6-7, with a 2-6 conference record including losses to powers such as Indiana and Northwestern.
Both have about a 1% of winning the national title, but with Iowa's schedule, they have a slightly better reason to pretend they're going to win it all. Either way, but will be surely wrong and you'll feel a lot of blame in the air coming from the west and east because just about every excuse in the book will be used.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!
"The New England Patriots: As annoying as the Yankess, just with 23 fewer titles."
For actual fan support if this is for football, I would agree that Nebraska has a shot. So do Michigan, Ohio State, and many others. Nebraska fans may be dilusional but they also are deadly loyal to their team.
For basketball, I think Duke is up there. Kentucky would be up there as well.
If this was for the whole package then it would really be up for grabs. Nebraska, Duke, Michigan, and USC would all be out. I think Texas would be up there with Tennessee and Wisconsin.
As for dilusional, I think that could be many teams including Iowa. Every team has their respective "homer crowd".
