Re: Chizik Ends Practice After 15 Minutes
My HS baseball coach once had us go through warmup drills. Then he told us all to get on the bus. We ended up having a nice steak dinner! It was an awesome surprise. It was definitely worth a day less of practice to have a day of team building in other ways.

My HS baseball coach, after a particularly disappointing loss said, "Get on the bus", then "Everyone put up your window." We proceeded to get the *****-chewing of our lifetimes. We were a pretty good team, but always knew after that to put the windows up on the bus if we didn't play well. This was also a guy who put us through practices after we 10-runned some teams.

I think that's a pretty neat trick. You get the team thinking they need to work harder, but you still give them a day off. My baseball coach did that in 9th grade once. The problem was he was really ****** and we couldn't drive so we had to all wait for 2 hours for our mommys to come pick us up.

But that would be cool eating a steak on the bus watching a good sports movie!

This isn't the army. I don't think its a bad idea at all. Building team and chemistry is a hard thing, and I think things like this are wise.
That being said, I might have some fun with it on the radio today.

At least he didn't take them to the visiting locker room and whip out the pink paint. Isn't that what you guys do to bond? :)

I'm just disappointed you used Bear Bryant and Nick Saban in the same sentence

I wish after 15 minutes of work my boss would tell me to go home. That would be pretty sweet assuming he didn't mean that I was fired.

I hear ya. There's several people that I'd like a running start at to take them right at the top part of the knee for a cut block.

Yeah, I certainly don't think those guys would have done it, but I bet Pete Carroll or even Mac Brown would.....those guys have been pretty successful too.
