today's fan fest
Will a lot of you folks be going today?? Is there a spot where CF members will be meeting? I would like to meet some of you if you are there. I'll be able to take photos if anyone wants them.
I will have red and white nike shorts, a yellow underarmour shirt with red Iowa State lettering on it with two cameras, one with a large flash unit.
The last description the police had on me was 51 year old white male, 6' and average build, short brown hair (balding). For part of the time I will be lugging around a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter trying to get pics of her with some of the players. Her father is a big hawkeye, but she is staying with us till the 31st so I'm in control till then!!! -

Don't be ashamed it happens in the best families.

I had thought of it, but I am not sure how 3 1/2 year olds would do. Not sure if they would have any fun.

Re: today's fan fest
There were tons of activities for kids last year. i.e. obstacle courses, blow up toys, etc. Our young ones had lots of fun.

Re: today's fan fest
Anything for college kids to do? Yeah, there's talking to players and coaches, but I honestly don't think I'd be able to carry on much of a worthwhile conversation about their sports, and I hate wasting people's time with small talk if there are others that want to speak with them. Probably the only thing I could do would be to talk with Pollard about how he got into sports administration (it's something I'm interested in doing after I retire from teaching, if possible) and I'm sure people will be mobbing him for football talk and autographs, et cetera and so on. He's a popular man.
If there's something to keep college kids entertained for a while, I might drag a group of freshmen over there.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

I was next to Jaime when he was getting interviewed about the new uniforms. He said a big part was getting rid of the blue because everyone he talked to disliked them.

He was probably locked in his office or something. They didn't want anyone stuffing him in a sack and running off; he's too valuable! True and Valiant

Re: today's fan fest
Yeah, I saw him walk in around 2:00 just as we where leaving. There were lots of activities for the kids same as last year. I just think there were a lot more people today compared to last year, which made it incredibly hot in the building.

Re: today's fan fest
I missed Chizik also. Kids had a blast. Was hotter than Drew Tate after a dropped pass inside. I picked up the hit it hard football t-shirt.
I did see Adam Haluska and his wife.
The lines for the football players were long but everyone else was very accessable.
Everyone is hyped about Football!

Re: today's fan fest
Got pictures of Chizik with the kids and autographs at about 2:15pm. Shortest line of all the football lines.

Re: today's fan fest
No sign of the Mrs Flynn or the future Mrs. Flynn. As my daughter was getting autographs from the Volleyball team I couldn't help but notice the thighs on those ladies and what kind of pressure they could inflict on me! (Dirty Old Man at heart!)
