what is with the helmets earpiece design? Is that how the vintage ones looked???

Are you referring to how the earpiece comes out toward the facemask? I think thats just the new design of the "revolution" helmets. I think I've heard it cuts down on concussions.

This is nothing new. We've had revolution helmets probably since 2002 or 2003. If you look at some pictures of our current helmets you will notice them.

so are all throwback helmets this style?

all throwback helmets are that style. despite trying to look like 1977, there are safety requirements, etc., that need to meet 2007 standards.
