CNNSI.com article on ISU uniforms

Looks like it's getting national press. The only thing I'm concerned about is the link to the athletic department's website.
Do we want a bunch of people who don't care voting?

I initially thought that too. But the more I think about it, the more I believe the design is already picked and this voting stuff is just for good press. It's really neat to see the national press picking up on what we're doing though. Gotta love what JP is doing!

It would be interesting to see an outside poll done by a publication. The college football world selecting which of the three they like better. Compare that to the internal voting.

maybe this has been suggested before, but I would vote for the word "Cyclones" written in the same print as the "ISU" helmet

I would rather see "Cyclones" on the helmet than ISU or the I State, because the are other ISU's and I States, but there aren't any Cyclones out there.

I like your thinking. But I would make the font a lot more bold and larger.

I support our team, regardless of what's on the helmet. If I don't like what's on the helmet, I talk myself into liking it.

i don't mind the helmet's but they need white home pants to balance the look so it looks normal, like Auburn has, and ditch the NFL type socks

JP is great. We are now getting national write ups over a helmet! Anything that will get us more on to the national stage I'm good with.

I could be good with this as well. I voted for I State but CYCLONES would be a great idea if they come up with some font rather than the cutsey stuff.

I agree 8,000 percent..... that font has no business on a football helmet... as intimidating as carolina blue and hawaii's rainbows (on their old helmets)

The red I-State on Flander's signature is really starting to grow on me for some reason... it is simple yet bold and although there are other states that start with an I, Idaho St., Indiana St., and Illinois St. are all D-IAA, right? Look, people on the coasts will forever confuse Iowa with Idaho and Ohio for as long as there is a United States, I run into that all the time when I meet coasties here in Colorado. Start winning, and showing the I-State logo on College Gameday, and fox sports net, and people will start recognizing us as Iowa State.

Does anyone have a feel for whether the current twisty bird logo will be phased out!? Boy the marketing and clothing merchandisers will love this....

OK guys... by popular demand, here's my rendition of a white helmet with "Cyclones" in a much better font.
(Please forgive the sloppy stripes on the helmet -- mostly focusing on the way the type looks)
