we will be exposed to a new era of Cyclone Football! I have not been this excited about a new season in a very long time!
BTW, why don't we have a countdown banner this year?

I too am very pumped and got even more pumped after I just checked weather.com. 10 day forecast for the 30th calls for sunny and 71 degrees with an overnight low of 54. Perfect weather for some football!!
ShaaaWing!
- keep.
I had a vivid dream last night about leaving work around noon. Driving up to Ames. Parking in the lot under the clear blue sky. A refreshing breeze blowing through the trees as I pop the first beer of the tailgate season. Of staggering out of the stadium in the dark singing the fight song and raving about how our boys put a hurtin on Kent State.
I have a general question...
My friends and I will be tailgating for the first time (former band members). When do the lots open up? Especially for this Thursday game? We don't have a parking pass, so where is the best place to park? I've heard that the student lots fill up really fast. Are those lots on S. 16th a good place to go?
Grass lots open 6 hours before kickoff. Usually once or twice a year (for a big game) there are so many cars waiting to get into the lots they open them early (Nebraska last year).
From ISU.com
Quote:
Tailgating Policies: Enter the correct gate (as listed on the back of the pass) for access to the assigned lot and make certain that your vehicle stays within its allotted space. For Saturday games, donor lots open at 7 a.m. or six hours prior to kickoff, whichever is earliest. Non-donor lots open six hours prior to kickoff. Tailgater tents are limited to 10 feet x 10 feet. Prohibited items include kegs, glass bottles, beer funnels and open fires. Patrons are responsible for cleaning their areas when departing.
Pardon me while I steer this thread back on track....
Absolutely. How many times have we had the opportunity to be THIS excited about Cyclone Football?
I am coming out of my skin waiting for the season to start, but I am also trying to relish in the feeling of justified optimism.
I'm not so concerned about the score a week from tonight, I just want to see a group of young men that are confident, hungry and aggressive for 4 quarters.
The rest will take care itself.
Glass bottles are prohibted? But no good beer comes in a can???? Ahhhh!!!!!
