Dish Network TV at tailgate questions

I'm playing around with a spare dish trying to get it to work so I can use my receiver at a tailgate. Anyone here ever setup a Dish Network receiver at a tailgate and can give me tips on how the heck to get this thing to pull down a signal? Not having much luck at the moment. And yes I'm pointing it south in the same general area as the one on my house...

My brother had his mounted to the roof of the RV. Took about 5-10 mins. to get it going, but it worked. WHat kind of platform are you gonna have it on?

I set up Dish for almost every game. You mentioned you are playing around with a spare Dish. The newer receivers don't work with older LNBs(> 3 years old).

Have you done the menu 6 1 1 and done check switch? If you have a mismatch it give you a communictation error I believe.

Bet this is it because that is the dish I'm trying to use. My home setup has 2 dual receivers. Trying to use the Dish 322 which is the standard one without the DVR that is in the other room. Guessing I need to find a Dish 500 receiver huh?
