I think it shows how deep we are at WR. I'm thinking we'll see a lot of 3 and 4 receiver sets this year. I know Coach commented on Parker's height, but man I think he's going to turn into a force over the next few years.
I know he's only a kicker, but I had to laugh at Shaggy's 6-6 185. Eat some more steak or something!
also michael bibbs is #3 lb. and i thought garrin would be better than smith as well
Read through a bit more, and was surprised by some things - Lyle is only a sophomore and it sounds like he only played one JUCO year, and only one year of high school football. Would it be beneficial to redshirt a physical specimen like that and coach him up a bit on technique, especially if he never cracks the top two?
Never noticed Bailey Johnson moved inside, if they can get some weight on him and he can maintain his athleticism, he could be a great interior D-Lineman. Surprised to see no Nate Frere anywhere.
Can somebody explain to me who Schmidgall is? I'd never seen this guy on a two deep anywhere and now he's the first guy in for both OLB spots.
Is Doug Dedrick really only 282? I was hoping he'd be a little closer to three bills before the start of the season. That's a pretty small LT.
I remember seeing Schmidgall all over the field at the spring game. He impressed me...
I didn't realize Berg had 76 tackles last year, but where is the stat for "times-blown-coverage"?
yah schmidgall played a lot of ST last year and seems to be a pretty good player. I'm a little disappointed some of the JC's didn't really take hold of some positions, especially Tate, Weir, and Lyle. I want Braaksma to succeed, but he is better suited for strongside end. I also thought Bibbs was really standing out, I was thinking he was going to be a terror in the middle w/ all that speed at 230, but who knows. I was also surprised to see Nick Howe as the backup at TE surpassing the likes of Tinlin, Collin Franklin, etc. I still think we'll see Catlett getting some snaps there as a hybrid H-Back.
Tight end surprised me as well. Good to see Catlett getting on the field - met his family at the '06 spring game.
I have the feeling that Euseph Messiah (sp?) is going to provide us with some "circus-act" catches this year. The only other time I've seen him play was during last year's scrimmage, where he caught everything thrown within a mile of the stadium.
I think that young man will surprise some people.
I think the JUCOs sitting goes with what was implied for the last couple of weeks - the JUCOs are going to be rotated in for the first several weeks while they try to get a better grasp on the system, then you might start seeing their names on top of the 2-deeps. Until you get them into game situations, it's hard to tell which player is better, but those that were with the team back in January likely have a better grasp on Chizik's system than the JUCOs that joined in August.
I was hoping to see Bass as the starter....so much hype and i have seen Scales play and would prefer to see someone else get a chance.
If you still can not get it, I am using firefox and I had to open in a new tab for it to come up. Don't know why but it works that way.
just go to cyclonereport and under football go to depth chart. thats how i saw it
