Iowa State's basketball MVP from '06 joins Clayton State
August 28, 2007
Mike Taylor has found a home with the Lakers.
The Clayton State Lakers, that is.
The former Iowa State men's basketball player has enrolled in classes at the Atlanta-based Division II school, sports information director Lee Wright said Monday, and is expected to play for the Lakers this winter.
Taylor, an honorable-mention all-Big 12 selection, was dismissed from the Cyclones on July 19 after a series of brushes with the law - including a citation in April for allegedly shoplifting a bottle of cold medicine from a convenience store.
The Milwaukee native was named the Cyclones' most valuable player after leading the team in points (16.0) and assists (4.5) in his only season in Ames.
