Maric Stays and Nankivil Commits to WI

Per Bill Hodges Daily Page:

# Both guard Jamel White and center Aleks Maric have agreed to return to Nebraska. New coach Doc Sadler visited both players at home to persuade the top two scorers from last year's team to return. Maric, who was the team's top scorer with 10.9 points a game, agreed to come back after Sadler visited him in Australia. Maric said he was leaving the team when it became official that Barry Collier would not be returning as head coach. White averaged 8.7 points last season. Former walk-on redshirt freshman guard Mike Smith is also rejoining the team on scholarship. Sadler still plans to meet with sophomore guard Marcus Walker, who had earlier asked for his release.
# Class 2007 Top 100 forward Keaton Nankivil of Madison-Memorial, Wis., has chosen the Wisconsin Badgers</B> over Marquette and Boston College, among others.

What an eye opener. We lost at home by double digits to a team whose top two scorers combined for 19.6 points per game! Talk about getting Munsoned!

Yep, Maric stays as the lone center with three no name forwards and about seven zillion startup guards. Except guard Marcus Walker is still not sure. Now here is a team that needs some recruits.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.
