It'd certainly give our stadium a different feel - now the real challenge in bowling in the south endzone is filling in the new seats on a consistent basis. Yes we're setting records in sales, but we need to set records in average attendance. The real benefit of bowling in the south endzone will come when we're consistently selling out games.
Until we're doing that, it probally won't make the stadium look any better...

I agree, at least with the stadium in relation to the Reimann gardens. Couldn't care less about that place. It's nice I'm sure, and I'm certain others go and enjoy it.
But as far as I'm concerned, it could've gone anywhere and instead it's taking up valuable stadium parking. And am I paranoid, or was it growing for a few years there? I used to joke that we'd have the only 80 yard field in college football because Reimann gardens took over the south endzone.
Otherwise, I see your point on (empty) seats. But then again, winning would address that situation |

I was actually refering to the fact that putting a bunch of empty seats on the south end zone would look rather depressing on game day... this is amplified by the fact that empty seats would be replacing a "Nice" view

Who has been to Kansas' stadium? While the walk there is quite nice (the big hill), the stadium itself is a bit dismal and depressing. I just don't want ours to turn out like that. Discuss amongst yourselves.

I've been there, But I was amongst several thousand Cyclone fans and having a blast until the very end.
The difference in JTS and theirs is the Jake in our North endzone essentially closing the whole thing in.
I do like how they have the student section right behind the visitor's bench and with they would do that at JTS.

I seriously think our stadium would look better then the Jayhawks. Looking at pictures and talking to people that have been there, I have no doubt in my mind about it.
I wonder if we would get a new jumbo-tron and scoreboard if we bowled it in. It looks like it would have to be raised up no matter what.
Last point... who cares about the gardens. That is the last thing I care about during game day. Heck I don't care about it any other day either. I wouldn't mind if it suddenly got hit with Roundup (watch it suddenly happens ). Some people my like it but it is a waste for me.

Kansas' stadium looks a lot like the stadium in Shreveport that holds the Independence bowl IMO.
JTS bowled in would look a little better just because we have the cardinal and gold colored bleachers... KU only has non-colored metal bleachers.

I did a 3D model of JTS with the south endzone bowled in a little while back. I actually suites above the bowl, but that's because this was before the plans came out.
You can check it out here and also download it into Google Earth.
