You know - as much as we hate losing to this and that team and can't stand this or that team, tailgating hard core like that, you always meet the best people, no matter what colors they wear. The best story I have is the Independence Bowl 3 seasons ago, we're playing Miami (OH)...and who has a section of the tailgating lot held down? LSU FANS!!! They just wanted to tailgate, they love the atmosphere of that particular bowl game, and they just come out and grill and cook and offer beers and food. And they told me they love when ISU was there a few years prior (Alabama game - that kick is still good in my mind!!!) and they had to be back for us this year too!!! Always good people out tailgating!

Always good people out tailgating! Very true. Hawk fan tailgaters in Iowa City (if you call grilling in a parking ramp tailgating) are about the only people I've had problems with but I'm sure that's just the rivalry thing. I know we are all supposed to hate Nebraska but they have some of the nicest tailgating fans. I think most hardcore tailgaters are just good people at heart. -

Re: Tailgating Q
We had a great time in Nebraska in '05, tailgated next to some Husker fans and had a blast.
They ran out of grill space and used some of ours. We were offered (and drank) shots of Peppermint Schnapps out of their inflatable sheep's behind.
Ah yes...good times...

I love hearing tailgating stories. I smell a new thread that is needed.

Re: Tailgating Q
The K-State fans were nice to us last year. We were basically surrounded by them but they'll give you the scoop on the best way to drink your booze without getting busted since their lots are on a state park so technically there is no alcohol allowed. Just put it in a plastic cup, hide the empties, and act natural when the cops come by and they won't bother you at all. They'd partake in in our tailgate games, even offer us a pull of whatever brown bottle liquor they had and despite that I'm not a big fish fan I did try some tasty fried catfish as well.
Where is the best spot to tailgate at Nebraska? Heard parking is limited there so there isn't much of it. I know at Kansas you have to drive around till you find a frat parking lot or someones lawn to park on. Last time we drove around till we saw some ISU people in one of them. And I heard that they moved the Mizzou lot now? Two years ago you could park in the gravel lot at the bottom of the hill near the stadium but a Mizzou grad told me that changed last season?
Going to be a fun time, 7 home games and 3 road games in the works this year!

Re: Tailgating Q
We met some great people tailgating in Texas, Ok and K-state last year. There are some really nice people out there... happy to share their beer with you after a loss or give you some of their food... and joke with you about how each other's teams got ****ed by the Refs the week before.

Re: Tailgating Q
Plus if you park in the south grass lots you'll see something like this most likely:

Ah yes...good times... I'm not sure I've ever been that thirsty. Sounds like something from Fear Factor. You
Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.
