I know this thread has been done before, but I don't think it is on the site anymore. Anyways, I'm planning on getting an ISU license plate and am looking for ideas. I like the idea of something implying that this is a cyclone state, but fear most might be taken. I'll be starting law school at Drake this fall so perhaps that could be worked in somehow. Some ideas:
cyclnst (already taken, I checked)
clonest
cyst8
clnst8

When I got new plates I thought I would have trouble getting anything decent, but actually got my first choice, ST88GR8, so it is not impossible. What I was wondering is can you leave spaces, for example you checked CYST8, can you do CY ST8 ( 1 space) CY ST8 ( 2 spaces) or hyphens, stars, ect. CY-ST8 or CY*ST8 or CY.ST8. Just a thought.

There's a lot of cool ones out there. I have seen one a couple times that says "wasahwk" and love that one. It shows there is proof you can be healed of bird flu....

I have CY GY but first tried to get CY GUY and it was taken (this was in '97 I think). Oddly enough the DMV told me at the time that the person that had it lived in Seattle.
I know when I looked into getting a plate for my dad a few years back, there were some very good plates that were suprisingly not taken but I can't recall what they were specifically now. The best thing to do is see if you can get some patient person at the DMV (hahaha) that will look up your possible choices so you can rule them out before you fill out the app and have to keep resubmitting it. By the way, we may have better chances of winning the National Championship this year than you do of finding a patient DMV worker:) **
There is also a waiting list you can supposedly be put on at the DMV but you may never get the plate since most plates just transfer to your new vehicles now.
**Disclaimer: No offense if any of you work at the DMV, I'm just stereotyping. I truly do love waiting in long lines on a day off of work;) |
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

As my screen name suggests I had the same idea last year and submitted CYST8, CYSTATE, CYST8T, CLNST8 and got my screen name CYST8T and have had many people at the football games who like that one. I was surprised it was still available. I would like to see if DBL MAC was available for my second vehicle

And as crummy as this one felt, Cyclone fans, it could be a lot worse. You could be a Hawkeye. - Sean Keeler (imagine that, actually quoting Keeler!)
