So is the game on Mediacom?
First off, I'm sorry this question has surely been answered. But is the Kent State game going to be on Mediacom or only broadcast over the internet? I know the Toledo game was on Mediacom in the Des Moines area last year. Thanks guys!!!

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
It won't be on Mediacom, but you can watch it by subscribing to CloneZone.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
Thats so rediculous.... It really pisses me off and before anyone says anything no I can't go to the game. I hate Mediacom! Isn't this game called the mediacom classic?

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
Whoever is responsible for this really screwed the pooch. I'm sure blame falls both ways.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
There is no contractual reason the game is not on, correct?
CloneZone it will be for me . . . I am hoping that their servers are prepared for the load.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
Pollard is in the business of making money. He apparently feels he can make more money and get more exposure using Cyclones.com or making people buy tickets to the game in order to see it.
Until we have a rabid fanbase, we're just not going to see games like this on TV.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
My pocket schedule says this is the "Mediacom Classic"
hmmm whatever I guess...
Sorta like the state being called the "Hawkeye State".... somethings just aren't always what they appear.
Got ticket.. won't need to see it on Mediacom... even though I do wanna see the replays shows again this year.... somethings I like to see a second look from the television perspective.
GO CLONES !
(bring your "pocket aces" )

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
Actually, I'm sure ISU would love to have this game on televison, and Mediacom did want to air the game. However, since the Big 12 TV rights belong to FSN...they can choose who airs it if they don't opt to. Last year they allowed Mediacom to have the rights to the Toledo game. But because of Mediacom's dispute with the Big 10 Network (owned by Fox) they elected to keep it to themselves and the game won't be aired. It has nothing to do with JP or ISU from what I understand. Hope that clears things up.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
I was under the impression that FSN didn't have any jurisdiction over non-conference games and that their exclusivity only pertained to conference games, and that was the reason Mediacom was able to televise last year's Toledo game.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
ISUALUM2002-
FSN has exclusivity rights to all Big 12 home games that ABC does not select for its game of the week, this includes non-conference as well. They then sublicense games to other entities for a fee (Versus, ESPN Regional, Mediacom, etc). Since the game is at home, it is their call. So, in essence FSN is opting to lose money to stiff Mediacom from carrying the game. If the game was at Kent State, they would have no choice in the matter. I belive ISU had to receive permission from FSN to even air the game over the Clone Zone. Once the TV contract is signed, the schools have almost no say in what airs and what doesn't. That's the price they pay for the guaranteed TV money.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
The same goes for radio as well. The Cyclone Radio Networks holds all rights to broadcasts eminating from JTS starting two hours before the game and ending two hours after. That's why this new Cyclone Nation Live venture Deace and ******** have put together is borderline illegal. They must tape their broadcasts from the stadium and air them two hours after the game, or air them from a location not within several miles of JTS.

Re: So is the game on Mediacom?
Their broadcasts originate from Deace's basement in West Des Moines, so not much worry there. However, ******** will apparently be at JTS and reporting from there. I'm sure they looked into the legalities of doing such a broadcast.
