I got 3rd pick this year and my draft is tonight....I'm assuming LT and Steven Jackson are gone when it gets to me. With my scoring settings, my best two options are either LJ or Alexander. There are pros and cons to both. Just curious what others would do. I may even end up with a Gore or Addai type pick, but who knows.

I went with Gore with my 3 pick ... I'd say Gore, Addai or a big reach for Manning arre the ways I'd go.
LJ and SA are too big of gambles to hang my season on ... but do what you will.

with out scoring, passing TD points are cut in half so Manning will go 2nd round. Addai lost half of his line from last year and I just don't like Gore.

I would go with either Addai or Larry Johnson. Johnson has scored 19 and 21 tds (I think) the past two years and could do it again. I think his downside is around 15 tds. Addai is the sportscar type pick and could produce huge results. I am not sure if his top end is quite as high as LJ, but there is a lot of risk around LJ as well with a porous o-line and a huge workload.
I have avoided Alexander. He was hurt last year with a nagging injury and he could be past his prime. He may also have a couple of huge seasons in him, but with my first round pick, I want a for sure.

My guess is I'll make the decision spur of the moment. We'll see!

LJ no question. I've won my league 4 out of the last 5 years.

LJ, Addai, or Gore. I think Alexander will begin his twilight years. It doesnt take long.

Due to a glitch I ended up with 4th pick instead of 7th. I didn't hesitate on Gore (although I would have taken LJ if he'd been there). I also ended up with Drew Brees, Chad Johnson, Jevon Walker and Ronnie Brown.
I'm not all that disappointed but I would have liked Carson Palmer if he would have been there.
Thinking I had 7th pick I had NO problem getting either Addai or Wille Parker. It's your choice but personally I'd avoid Alexander at all costs.

How did LJs hold out affect the team (i.e. chemistry, tempo)?
There are a ton of questions with LJ.

I picked Drew brees or LD. No brainer.

Depending on your scoring, RB's are what you NEED to draft. I would only draft a QB in round 1 if you get 6 pts for a passed TD. My typical draft order is RB, RB, QB, RB, WR. After these I see what is left and get my best available other positions.

I ended up with Carson Palmer as my first pick of the second round. I selected 11th, so my first and second were almost back to back. I took Maroney with my first pick. | |
