Mizzu vs. Illinois

Game was close early, Juice went out with an inury and his backup, McGee made some errors to help give Mizzu a decent lead.

McGee has recovered nicely now and it's a 3 point game following a Mizzu turnover that led to an easy score.

Freshman receiver for Mizzu, Jeremy Maclin, has a pair of scores, one TD reception and one punt return. He's VERY fast.

Key note of the game: Mizzu went for a 2-point conversion early in the game (2nd quarter I think) and failed to convert...otherwise it would be a 4 point game right now.

Re: Mizzu vs. Illinois

Illinois made one heck of a comeback to make the game close at the end. Missouri wins. 40-34

I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I caught some of the second half and wondered where Juice was. Didn't realize he went out with an injury. Mizzou is beatable this year....just not sure if they're beatable by our team.

I love to see mizzou struggle. Of course that makes it easier for NU to win the north, and no one wants to see that.

The north is up for grabs. After week one I would rate the teams like this:

1. Nebraska
2. K-State
3. Missouri
4. Colorado
4. Kansas
6. Iowa State

I think the biggest race will be between NU and KSU, but the others can still make some noise (but probably won't win).

Did anyone see the end of K-State and Auburn? Their OL couldn't handle that pass rush at all.

But Auburn couldn't really handle their pass rush either.

I think everyone but us and Mizzou come out of week 1 feeling better about their teams.

We are worried that a better UNI team will beat us. Last year it was 28-27.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.
